The Progress in the Writing Center

My writing fellow and I worked on mostly embedding, which meant it took up half an hour. He showed me how to write up embedded sentences, so he was a big help. We also worked on how to make a conclusion, which was also a good idea. This was a good idea since I barely knew how to write an ending paragraph. I also lost a chunk of my points due to my other poor written conclusions in the past. It was nice though to have someone like him around. Him helping me with everything was great.

My progress was re-writing entire paragraphs and making them make sense. The I had to put sentences in the end of each paragraph to link my words to the thesis. My paper is now more like a C+ than a flat out F. I still hope to reach A level, though. That way I can assure myself that I can make sufficient literary analyses.

What I believe in achieving

Sa'Veon:  Do you set your goals according to what you to want to achieve or according to what you think you are capable of achieving?

I think about what I want to achieve because I want to have high goals and become a better person. If I am a better person, I can be a role model for the next generation of freshman. People always look up to others but never have the courage to work up to that level. Most people would sulk about never being that person or being stuck as the person they are. So in order to break the cycle, I believe it is best for me and maybe others to start working towards bigger goals and achieve them.

Sister Location pt. 4

Your fourth night starts, and you are in the room similar to the FNAF 3 game. You try to induce a shock to Funtime Foxy, but nothing happens. This is interesting because the shock always works. You shrug and crawl through the front vent. You suddenly find yourself in front of Circus Baby herself, but you then notice that she is deactivated. The speaker from above says that she was deactivated for an unknown reason, and she has to be safely tied to the conveyor. The speaker suddenly fizzes out, and Baby starts to speak. She says that she is trying not to move to trigger the cameras. Baby then says that something bad happened last night and that she wants you to fix her. Baby's going to be taken to the scooping room, and that only the bad things will stay behind to haunt you.

You press multiple buttons to her instructions. She then says that Ballora is with both of us in the room and that you must hurry to escape. Baby tells you to hurry to the Scooping room, a place to where Ballora will not follow you. When you came to inside the Scooping room, though, the speaker above is warning you to get out up there. But then the voice once again fizzes out, and a light comes on in the room. You see the exoskeletons of all the animatronics in the Sister Location, including Baby. You then see an unknown animatronic come towards you and it starts to speaks, sounding just like Baby. The unknown animatronics is known as Ennard, and he was made out of the other animatronics. He wanted to go to the outside world, but he needed to hide under human skin. That's why he led you into the room so he can get you get to set him free. Ennard pushes a button, and the scooper comes down, killing you in a blood shower. And that is the Bad end of Sister Location.

The Hardships of my literary analysis

I believe that find the right thesis and connecting it with the points I found were the hardest tasks for me. When it comes to finding a thesis in general, I usually blank out. I always look to others to help me in this part of writing a paper. Luckily, I remembered something from history class, so I wrote down that as my thesis. Another hardship was filling up the pages with meaningful words. Organization was my thing, so it worked out well in the end. What was easy for me though was finding the points. Since my thesis is society based I had a few things in mind. The book clearly helped me throughout the process of writing my draft, but I out needed bigger vocab words to fit in my essay. Due to this, I ended up using the dictionary. My advice to the people reading this blog to trying and reach out the people reading your paper, to give them something interesting to relate to. That's way I made a society based paper, so that the people and I can be on the same basis.

How to make a person smile

HELLO, MY POTATOES! Potato Girl here with another blog for you. This is a blog on how great it is to have friends around you, even if they make weird catch phrases.

A girl comes to you, and you look at her. She is short, with bone straight brown hair. She's slightly chubby and is only wearing a simple t-shirt with ripped jean shorts. The girl looks straight at you with a bored expression and starts to read her fanfiction. You both are on a bench at school, and lunch has just started. You stare into the green field in front of you and look back at the girl. You whisper,"That story is pretty lit." The girl stares at you with wide eyes, and then she smiles back. "It looks like you made me laugh again SaVeon." It was a good day.

Symbolism on the Human Insects

Humans are weak in many ways. They work as tiny ants, and their homes are in one place they call the ant pile, that pile is what we call Earth. We are so tiny, so oblivious to the world around us, that we never see what's coming until it squishes us like a human foot. We are also like spiders. Humans are also easily tempted, that we want to grab the spider's thread to take us away from the dark hole that is our problems. Humanity wants to run away from the problems, and that's where we make the mistakes. We also can be easily broken by feeling. We are like a beehive, so tightly fit and so well organized. But when a bear comes and wrecks the hive, all the bees are flying around in utter chaos. Humans are so weak, as well as the huge mudball we stand on. At any time anything could happen, all because we humans are the helpless insects we are.

The Lord of the Flies' appearance

A scene that you should remember when reading this book is when Simon goes crazy and sees the LOTF for the first time. You should notice the LOTF is a pig on a stick because pigs are mentioned frequently in the story. For example, the pig being killed in the first story by Jack causes disorder to happen within the tribe. And raping the pig before they slice her head off causes insanity within Jack's new tribe. And finally, Piggy dying in the later chapters symbolizes all order and rules on the island vanishing and true chaos coming to take Ralph. So Pigs are pretty much the embodiment of insanity within the story. So for the title of the story to be the name of a pig on a stick is HUGE, because it foretold many other deaths to happen.

I believe the scene where Simon meets the LOTF is important because the pig says he will always be with him and the boys. Since he represents insanity, that's a bad thing. He also told Simon to NOT go and tell the boys of the truth on the island, or he will die. But Simon went anyways and he was killed by insanity, literally.

Sister Location Pt. 3

You are back in your chair in the factory, the elevator pulling you down to your floor. You're in a weird room, though, with a huge silver fan in front of you with tiny puppet dolls hanging from the ceiling. You are sent to the rusty room, resembling that of the Horror attraction at Fredbear's. You crawl through the vent to a new room, where wires hang from the ceiling like vines, and robotic voices come close to you. You find yourself in front of a console, and you press the red button. A squeaky voice rings throughout the room, like that of a little child. You remember the poster by the shiny fan. There was a blue bunny that could extract itself from Funtime Freddy. So the voice was Funtime Bonnie. Bonnie's voice seems to draw the robots somewhere else. The guide voice from the ceiling says you can leave now.

You come through and find yourself in the Circus Gallery. The lights suddenly turn off, and Baby speaks to you. You immediately crawl under the desk. Baby continues to speak and come closer to you. She says that there was one day when she was onstage. There were children that would come and go. 2, 3, 4, 2, 3. She was once covered in glitter, and she smelled birthday cake everywhere. There was something special she could do. Baby had the power to make ice cream. But whenever she made ice cream, children started to disapear. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The child was a girl, she was slightly scared of the robot, and Baby didn't know why. As the girl came closer, Baby was suddenly unaware of herself. She opened her stomach, and then there was red ice cream everywhere. More children came in, and the ice cream painted the walls in red and pink. Baby was scared, but she wanted to know why it happened. Why did the children stop laughing? Thus the 3rd night ended.

The Horrors of LOTF: Chapter 8 Analyze and Response.

I'm going to analyze when Ralph thinks of a better childhood.

Ralph was by the river, thinking about his situation probably. He suddenly came across a couple of thoughts. This led to him maturing, to making him think about the cruelty and copying another person being what life is today. He thought about the past when he and his ex-friends once had fun on the island. They were once happy here, but now it's gone. Ralph then snapped back to reality to look down on himself. He looked down at his filthy clothes and thought that a bath would be nice once in a while.

This passage is important to the book because it signifies that the boys were once all together and unified. They were all happy, thinking that the world couldn't stop them from making their own decisions. But now that the book has taken a dark turn, I think the author decided to make one last happy flashback to see the difference of the before and now. I think the author wants us to see how the boys used to be, so we can understand the difference when we get into later chapters.

Sister location pt. 2

Hey, you guys! It's Potato Girl here with the next part of sister location. Hope you guys enjoy and make sure to comment down below what to blog about next.

You come back to the factory for more working. This, the voice is an angsty teen voice due to some glitches. That was incredibly funny for some reason. Anyways, you crawl through the vents to the circus gallery. The voice tries to speak to you about Circus Baby, saying that she's the main animatronic here in the factory. But then the voice disappears, and Circus Baby's catches your attention. She says that a night guard before you made a hiding place under the desk in front of you. She also says that someone is coming, so you better hide.

You crawl to under the desk and wait for the intruder to leave. Suddenly, something is pulling at the cover, trying to expose you. You pull at the cover, and the mystery intruder leaves. You climb out from under the desk, and Baby speaks to you again. She says that the voice is going to speak to you again, to run as fast as you can from Ballora. But she also says that the voice is lying, and that Ballora can sense your movements. What you have to do is to move as slowly as you can it to the exit and you will be just fine. You do what she says and you survive. Your shift ends and you go home with your popcorn and your chessy vampire cartoons.

Human nature

Human nature is based on feeling. Feelings allow you to make decisions sometimes while using the train of thought. These decisions help you make choices, which leads to actions that form your life. But your feelings mainly depend on what type of person you are. If you are an anti-social nobody, you say nothing, but your feelings are calm and telling you through decisions to look at everything. This is like Piggy when he is observing the other boys on the island. A person can only think though with their logic. If a person doesn't have motives to think, then they can't use their feelings for actions.

Sister location pt. 1

Hey, you guys. It's Potato girl here with another blog for you guys. This is a new video game that just came out called Sister Location. It is a spinoff video from FNAF about experimented animatronics. I will be doing this is parts

When you first enter the factory on the first night, you are in an elevator. A voice out of nowhere calls to you, and you realize it's a recorded message. The voice is obviously a male, and he tells on how to start your other nights. I thought this was different because the other FNAf games are about you standing still. This version is about you running around to survive, which I think is a better way to play the game. Anyways, the voice tells you to move to the dance studio and shock two of the animatronics with a shocking device. Since you are in another separate room, you can barely see the other animatronics.

I think you guys need an explanation. In the past games, the animatronics are trying to kill you because of their past mistakes. The animatronics here are trying to kill you because they want your skin to hide . The animatronic's names' are Ballora the Ballerina, Circus Baby, Ennard, Biddybab, Funtime Foxy, and Funtime Freddy. Anyways, you move through the vents to the circus gallery to shock Cirus Baby. But Circus Baby isn't there. The shift then ends, leaving you in a couch in your house, watching a cheesy vampire show. I think this was a distraction so you couldn't look around the house for clues.

My thoughts on Piggy

Piggy strikes me as a small boy, but with a huge intelligence record. He is fat, though, along with asthma, which could mean he can't survive in the wild. So when he is stranded on this tropical island, he starts to panic. He's also the nobody of the group that gets ridiculed often. In the first chapter, Jack and Ralph are the first ones to call Piggy his given name in the book. But i noticed something in the details during our class disscussion. There's an island, with pink sand and ending with a tail. Thwn there's a pig in the end fo the 1st chapter that can't be caught. Last of all, there's a boy in the group trying to warn the others of something bad coming, and his name is Piggy. This is telling me that something is going tot happen, but in a bad way.

Five Night's at Freddy's

This is the FNAF story, a story based off of the 4 FNAF videogames. Warning, blood, and gore included. So is you hate that, please stop reading. Anyways, enjoy my story.

The story starts with a birthday in Fredbear's Family Diner. Two animatronics sang in this establishment. Their names were Springtime Freddy and Springtime Bonnie. SF and SB entertained the kids for a long time at this birthday party. At the party, 5 kids threw a little kid into SF's mouth, killing the kid. This closed down Fredbear's Family Diner, and the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria was built. Springtime Freddy, now possessed with the little kid's soul, was shipped to the new location, while SB was left to rot in Fredbear's Family Diner.

Four new animatronics were made for this new establishment. Their names were Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. Freddy was a brown bear, Bonnie was a purple rabbit, Chica was a yellow chicken, and Foxy was a red pirate fox. They also entertained the guests. But later on, another birthday took place in the year of 1987. This time, a nightguard by the name of William Afton killed 5 kids in a parts and service room. He then stuffed kids in the Fazbear gang. Four of the kid's souls' were trapped in Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, the fifth soul being saved for later. Because of foul odors coming from the animatronics, the restaurant was closed. This started the 2nd Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria.

The old animatronics, the Fazbear Gang, were stripped of some of their parts for the new animatronics. They were left in the parts and service room to rot, while Springtime Freddy, now known as Golden Freddy was brought to an unknown to rot. The new animatronics was called the Toys. Their names were Toy Freddy, Toy Bonnie, Toy Chica, Toy Foxy (Mangle), Balloon Boy, and the Marionette. The fifth and final soul was put into the Marionette (Puppet). Now that the Puppet was awakened, he brought the Toys to life and put them against the nightguards. The reason because of this was because the killer of the 5 kids back in '87 was a nightguard. So when the animatronics stuffs a nightguard into a suit, they think they are killing William Afton. Unfortunately, the word got out that bloody suits were found in the parts and service room. So the 3rd Freddy Fazbear Location was born.

The original Fazbear gang was brought out of the parts and service room and refurbished to entertain again. Spring Freddy and Spring Bonnie was brought here too, but only Golden Freddy was brought to life, due to the soul inside of him. The refurbished animatronics continued to stuff nightguards into suits, with the help of Golden Freddy. Unfortunately, Afton came back and broke the animatronics to pieces. Their souls lifted from the pieces and chased the killer into the unknown room where SB laid against the wall. William jumped into the suit to protect himself, but the robot malfunctioned, killing the man in a gruesome blood shower. Some people then decided to make something out of this horror called Fazbear's Horror Attraction, held at the old Fredbear's Family Diner.

Now that the killer's spirit is inside of SF, the animatronic was re-named Springtrap. Springtrap, along with the newly made Phantoms (ghosts of the animatronics) still kept stuffing nightguards. That was until this one nightguard messed up bad and burned the place down. This set the kid's souls' free, and sent them to heaven. Thus ends the story of the FNAF games.

My trip to Hershey Factory

Going to Hershey Factory was one of the best trips in my childhood. I remember entering the building and seeing a huge, purple hall, full of chocolate aroma and child laughter. Mom and Dad led Madison and me to a ride. They said that this somewhat like a process of seeing how chocolate was made. We stopped into the moving vessel. The vessel took us through various rooms, showing us how to make chocolate. After all of us stepped off, we walked into the biggest chocolate gift shop I've shop I've ever seen. We had to move quickly out of the building after that because I didn't want to eat that much chocolate. In front of the building was an amusement park. We rode a variety of rides and had a turkey leg from one of the stalls. It soon was the end of the day and Dad carried Madison out of the area, Mom and me following behind. It was a great day.

My Reaction to Procrastination

Hey you guys, it's Potato here. I'm going to react to the article Procrastination by writing a letter to future me. Hope you guys enjoy.

Dear Senior Me, My Future Me,

I'm writing this to you to remember the great times you've had with your sister. Don't forget that she loves you, no matter how much she irritates you. Remember to love Madison back, and to care for her. Next up, please remember your friends Laura, Bobby, Valerie, Kolin, Daniel, and SaVeon, and what they've done for you in the past. Call them and text them every day when you're in college and thank them for getting you this far. Also, promise yourself that you'll become an architect like you wanted in the past. You get to make people's lives better by making them houses. The last two are VERY important. First, you have to promise me that you will find that special one. He, or she, has to be smart, funny, pretty, and at least unique in some way. Lastly, NEVER forget your family as you grow. Remember EVERYTHING they did for you. They loved you, helped you grow, and did everything best for you. They sacrificed everything for you, which is why I want you to sacrifice and care for them in the future.

Thank you, and good luck!

The Mortal Instruments Pt.4

HELLO, MY POTATOES! It's Potato Girl here with another blog for you. This is the 4th book of the series called the City of Fallen Angels. This is the most love related book in the series, and that's why it's my sister's favorite. She's a lovesick puppy. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy reading this blog, along with my other blogs. And make sure to comment on what you think about the series. I'm interested in reacting to the Clockwork series. Enjoy!

The story starts with Clary and Jace practicing, or training, in the Institute. Jace is way better than Clary because he has the angel-like grace. Jace then gets jealous because Clary is texting Simon. I thought this was cute just because of this the over-protective boyfriend that wants to keep his girlfriend to himself. Meanwhile, Simon is in one of those complicated relationships, and he doesn't know how to get out of it. I can understand the situation here. Simon doesn't know that Isabelle loves him, and when he finds out, he freaks out. This is because he already has a relationship with Isabelle.

I'm just going to end this here because I can't remember the rest of the story and how I reacted to it. I will also be ending the Mortal Instrument reaction series. Reason why is because this is taking too long.

The Secrets of Mary Bowser Pt. 2

HELLO, MY POTATOES!!!! It's Potato Girl here with another blog for you. I've done at least 60 minutes this week, so this is going to be a long blog. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy this blog and make to check out the book The Secrets of Mary Bowser. It's a real page-turner!

We left at where Mary El found out about the true nature of Philadelphia. She thought the colored people there were neither nor slaves. But still, Mary El decided to leave it behind and continue with her high school. Later on, after she left high school, a man named Theodore asked for her hand in marriage. Mary El refused though because she thought of Theodore's thoughts on her parents as wrong. I thought about it too, and I agreed with Mary El at the time. I still do agree. Later on, Hattie and Mary El fought out their differences, and it concluded with Hattie telling her a secret. Her father was an undertaker, and he hid slaves in coffins to ship them up to Philadelphia. "This was part of the Underground Railroad," Hattie said. "And you have to promise not to tell a soul." Mary El promised and decided to live with Hattie and father later on. After this, the most tragic thing happened. Mary EL's mom died, leaving Mary El shattered. She stayed in a depression for a year. And that's when I stopped reading.

Sorry, you guys that I left you on a cliffhanger. But I assure I will finish this book soon.

Mortal Instruments Pt.3

HELLO, MY POTATOES!!!!! It's POTATO GIRL here with another blog. This is the third book of the Mortal Instrument series: The City of Glass. This is my personal favorite out of the series, and I hope you enjoy it! Anyways, make sure to comment down below what you think of these blogs!
Enjoy!

Clary was about to go to Idris, the Shadowhunter city until a demon attack happened, leaving Jace, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec to head through the portal. Unfortunately, Madeline was killed in the attack, which caused me to be upset. I thought she would have a least stayed in the book for a little longer. Anyways, Clary creates a rune and opens a portal to Idris with Luke, but the portal backfires and they both are bounced off of the boundaries and into Lake Lyn. This causes her to see some weird things, and I mean WEIRD things. She wakes up us Amatis Graymark's house. Amatis is Luke's sister.

Let's skip to when Clary and Jace find Jace's old house, the one where he lived in as a child. Before we start, I to introduce a very important character to this story, Sebastian Penhallow. He has become a friend of Clary and lives in the Penhallow manor. He and Clary find a special book to cure their mother. But they also find out that Jace is part demon. This put Jace out of it until the demons somehow get through Idris's boundaries and into the city. Meanwhile, Alec finds Magnus cornered by demons in the city and saves his life. They have a cute Malec talk and they decide to fight off the demons. I literally fangirled at this because Alec Lightwood and Magnus Bane are meant to be together, they are just being introverts. Earlier in the story, Simon was put in the Gard prison for being a dangerous vampire. So he now going to die in the Gard due to the fire the demons set.

I bet you guys need some explanation. Vampires are considered Downworlders and Shadowhunters aren't very fond of them. So they aggressive towards each other to their opinions. I swear these people always fight because of opinion and category. Why can't we all just get along? Anyways Clary and the others save Simon and a mysterious man from the prison, only to find out that the mysterious man is Hodge, and that he has answers. But before he can give the answers, the most amazing cliffhanger happens when Sebastian kills him. I was about to cry from the lack of information. It just stops you in your place to see a cliffhanger and not the good kind of stop. It's like your about to throw the book across the room and throw a tantrum.

Let's skip to when Valentine comes to Idris and declares war with the Shadowhunters. With the Mortal sword in his possession, he can control demons and use them to destroy the Shadowhunters. Clary convinces the Council to have the Downworlders aid them in battle with a special rune she made. Jace in all of this fled to find Sebastian and kill him. The reason because of this is he is a spy for Valentine and he killed max Lightwood in the middle of the fight. He goes to a field and is knocked out. When he wakes up, Jace is tied up and in a house with Sebastian. It is revealed that Jace isn't Valentine's son and that it really was Sebastian who was half demon. Jace and Sebastian had a showdown in a field right outside the house to show who was the better warrior, but Isabelle intervened and killed Sebastian.

Jace started going to Lake Lyn, where he found out was the Mortal Mirror. He found Valentine about to kill Clary. Jace took the blade for Clary and died right in front of her eyes. This left me a little distraught because Jace was one of the main characters, meaning that killing him would be the downfall of the series. Valentine did the ritual to summon the angel Raziel, but, to my surprise, was killed by Raziel spitting on him. Talk about an anticlimactic death. NAyways Raziel gave Clary a wish, and she decided to use it to bring Jace back to life. In the end, Jace and Clary get back together. And Valentine is dead, the demons fled Idris, and everything is right with the world.

The Mortal Instruments Pt. 2

HELLO, MY POTATOES!!! I'm POTATO GIRL and I'm back with part 2 of the mortal instrument blogs. Now, you may be wondering,"Potato Girl, how many parts are there to these blogs. Well, I'm doing a blog reaction to each blog, so after this, there are going to be 4 more blogs. Anyways, today I'm posting my reaction to the second book in the series: The City Of Ashes. Hope you dudes enjoy!

We stopped off when Clary and Jace found out they were siblings, and they were finding the cure for their mother, Jocelyn Fairchild. Valentine's whereabouts are revealed in the prolog of the story. where he gets a warlock child to summon a very strong demon, but the warlock gets killed in the process. The mysterious demon and Valentine make a deal, and the prolog ends.

The real story starts at the Institute when Alec and Isabelle's mother (Maryse), father (Robert) and little brother (Max) return from their trip in Idris. Maryse suddenly curses out Jace by saying he's just like his father Valentine, and that she doesn't want to see him anymore. This causes Jace to leave and cause havoc in a werewolf bar. At Simon's house, where Simon and Clary are starting to fall in love. I was a bit upset with this because I thought Jace and Clary would end up together. Even though they're siblings, it's obvious the two love each other. As I usually say, love is love and it doesn't matter who you love as long as the love is true and not one-sided.

Luke calls Clary over because of what Jace did. It turns out that Maryse said those things because the Inquisitor, also known as Imogen Herondale, was coming to take away Jace to the Silent City, where he will later be put to trial under the Mortal Sword. The Shadowhunters believed that the Mortal Sword is one of the 3 Mortal Instruments. When these instruments are combined in a certain ritual, Angel Raziel will come down to the person responsible of the ritual and grant them a wish. The Instruments are the Mortal Cup, the Mortal Sword, and the Mortal Mirror. The Mortal Cup, as you know, can turn regular people n Shadowhunters. The Mortal Sword can make Shadowhunters tell the truth. Finally, the Mortal Mirror can drive Shadowhunters into madness. The night before the trial, Valentine came to visit Jace. He says to Jace that he has big plans for the sword and the cup he stole as well. This causes Jace to get accused of stealing the sword and giving it to Valentine. He is also accused of killing one of the Silent Brothers, keepers of the Silent City.

Jace gets freed from the prison by Clary, Isabelle, and Alec. Clary uses a particular rune to wreck the door, which leaves the three Shadowhunters in confusion in how Clary made that strong of a rune. Clary and the others went to hide in Luke's house, causing them to meet a female werewolf named Maia Roberts. I imagined Maia as a scruffy looking girl, like a cross between a hobo and a skateboarder. I pretty much imagined myself, but older. Let's skip to when Simon was digging himself out of his grave. It turns out that while he was staying with the vampires, some vampire blood was given to him. Because of that, Simon turned into a vampire. Maia, since she is a werewolf, hates Simon. I hate people hating other races just because of how they are. It doesn't matter. This is just like the African American problem from back then.

Anyways, we later find out that Valentine has been killing Downworlders to perform a certain ritual. He needs children Downworlders, so he went after Simon and Maia. Clary, Jace, and the others go to rescue them with the help of the warlock Magnus Bane. Jace, Alec, and Isabelle discovered earlier  that Clary had the power to make runes. This surprised me because NO Shadowhunter has even been able to do that. Anyways, Clary gave her friends the Fearless rune, so they were fighting better than ever. Simon was barely alive when Jace found him, so he gave Simon his blood to drink. Maia was ok, and Valentine was defeated by Clary writing "destroy" with her stele on the ship floor. Sadly, Imogen was killed by a flying demon on the ship, so she sunk to the bottom of the ocean floor. Clary and the others were about to go back to the Institute when they see Simon in the sunlight. Apparently, he was filled with Shadowhunter blood because of Jace, and could now walk in the sun. Clary was at the hospital taking care of her mom when a mysterious woman came to sit next to her. Her name was Madeline, and she knew how to cure her mother.

Now THAT was a PLOT TWIST!!! Anyways I hope you guys enjoyed my blog and stay tuned for part 3, The City Of Glass. Hope you guys liked this blog and comment on my other blogs. Also, comment on whether I should add a co-host to aid me with these blogs. You know, a person that can read these books with me. BYE MY POTATOES!!!!

The Secrets of Mary Bowser

HELLO, MY POTATOES!!! I'm here to summarize a week's worth of reading on the book, The Secrets of Mary Bowser. It's a book by Lois Leveen and a book that I recommend. Anyways I hope you all enjoy my summarization and to check out my other blogs as well.

The story starts off with an African slave girl named Mary El. When I learned about the main character, I knew right away this was about how the slaves were treated and how Mary El was the
example. But something did tell me she was going to make a difference. A small difference, but a
difference. Anyways, Mary El has a mother and a father and they all lived in Richmond, Virginia.
Mary El and her mother worked for a generous family called the Van Lews, so they get a little more
freedom than the other slaves in Virginia. Even so, the mother and father want Mary El to move up to Philadelphia for a better education, and to live with a Quaker family. I remember from my previous education in Philadelphia that Quakers were families that believed the Negroes were the same as any other person. I liked those kinds of people, the kind of people that believed all were equal.

Anyways, Mary El goes to Philadelphia and makes friends/ gets an education. She particularly hangs out with a girl named Hattie. She has to be a slave in order to get money for her family, specifically her little brother. Mary El is clueless, so she shrugs it off and goes to the prayer house. When she sits down, she is asked by a white lady to go sit on that bench in the back. I had one idea on what was about to go down, so I kept reading. A 60-year-old African American came to sit down next to Mary El. She asked the man why he was sitting here when he could sitting next to the other whites. The man replied, saying that the negroes sat back here. This caused me to throw the book across the room and scream 'I KNEW IT'! I decided after I screamed that I didn't want to read this until the next day. So I closed the book and went to bed.

The Mortal Instruments Pt. 1

HELLO BACK MY POTATOES!!!! POTATO GIRL here, with another blog for you! This blog is about my favorite book series from middle school, written by an amazing woman (Cassandra Clare). In my opinion, she has a great imagination! Enjoy, and remember to write down in the comment section YOUR reactions!!!

This story needs an explanation. In this world, the humans are surrounded by magical creatures. The story revolves around the species called the Shadowhunters. The human don't know of this species because they've been kept secret for a 1000 years. A long time ago, Johnathan Shadowhunter summoned an angel named Raziel, who is widely known figure to the Shadowhunters in the story. Raziel gave Johnathan a species to protect the humans from the demons. These people are like humans, but they have drank from the Mortal Cup. The Mortal Cup is a goblet that turns humans into half angel, half human beings. These are called Shadowhunters. The main Shadowhunters in this story are the Lightwoods, the Fairchilds, the Herondales, and the Morgensterns.

We start with a girl named Clary Fray. She has a mother named Jocelyn Fray, and a father figure named Luke. Clary and Simon went to the club Pandamonium on her 18th birthday. On that night, Clary saw Shadowhunters kill demons in the club. When I imagined Clary scream, I imagined an eagle screech come out of her mouth. It was extremely funny, and I laughed so hard that my neighbors came to check on me to see if I was ok. Let's skip to when Clary was fighting her first demon in her house. We find out that the Shadowhunter's names are Jace, Isabelle, and Alec. Jace Wayland has blond hair and golden eyes. Isabelle Lightwood had black hair and ebony-colored eyes. Alec Lightwood has black hair and blue eyes. Now, let's see if you can imagine this: there's scraps everywhere on the floor. Clary is pinned to the floor by the demon, and Clary's covered in blood, her clothes in tatters. She shoves Jace's device down the demon's throat, and explodes, chunks of meat dissolving on the floor. Jace comes to help Clary, and she falls unconscious.

When Clary wakes up, she finds she's in a strange hospital room. She looks at the walls and the entire room. Everything's a greyish-white color. Isabelle enters the room. I imagined Isabelle looking like a super model, since the book described her as a knockout. She gives Clary clothes to change into. Later on, after Clary meets Alec, she finds Jace and is introduced to Hodge Starkweather. He has old-man like features, and has a bird named Hugo perched on his shoulder. He struck me a nice man, yet with that unsettle like feeling, like the expression is fake. Later on, Clary finds her last name is Fairchild, and a new life ahead of her. Let me put you in her shoes: a girl who just found out that her father (Valentine Morgenstern) is a bad person who's responsible for the deaths of hundreds. And a girl who's the key to stopping those deaths from continuing. She meets, or re-meets, a man named Magnus Bane. He's a warlock with asian-like features. He's really slender, tall, and has golden cat-like eyes. Clary slowly starts to remember the magical occurrences in her early life. Magnus then flirts with Alec. I immediately fan-girl, and at the same time make a huge discovery. This was the book I've read that had a gay relationship. It was weird, but great that I've accomplished something.

Back to the story, Isabelle then comes and announces that Simon has been captured by vampires. Jace and Clary goes to rescue Simon, then head back to the Institute. In the library, Clary discovers where the Mortal Cup is by trying out an art technique with runes. Runes are symbols that Shadowhunters burn onto their skin to make themselves stronger in life situations. The 4 Shadowhunters go back to Clary's old apartment, only to be attacked by a very strong demon. Alec is injured, Isabelle is still fine, but Jace is captured by Valentine an taken to Blackwell Island. When Clary comes to the Island, she finds Jace, but she then learns from Jace that he is her brother. This is sort of awkward because Jace and Clary kissed before she went to the library. Valentine tried to persuade Clary to join Jace an him, but ends up losing both Jace and Clary, forcing him to retreat to Idris, the main city of the Shadowhunters. Clary and Jace become siblings, but find out Jocelyn is in a magic sleep, leaving the two to get a cure to wake her up.

Candy Chang: My 7th Grade Inspiration

HELLO MY POTATOES!!!! This is POTATO GIRL back to you with ANOTHER blog. And this is a very special blog, because it's about a lady named Candy Chang. She was my inspiration in 7th grade, and I want to share her story with you. Enjoy!

Candy Chang is a woman who has lost her loved one. So to find consolation with her neighbors, she painted an abandoned house in New Orleans with chalkboard paint. Candy then wrote the words,"Before I die, I want to ________. The results of these words astounded her. Responses were special and moving. For example, "I want to see my daughter graduate" or "I want to get my wife back. This attracted the attention of business companies, who wanted their own chalk houses. Today, there are 2000 of these inspirational objects around the world. You can find these houses in China, Iraq, South Africa, and Kazakhstan. Later on, the "Before I Die" book was published. It contains the stories of the chalk houses.

Candy was an inspiration to me, and I hope she will be an inspiration to you. And besides the chalk houses, she has started to make public art too. My personal favorite is the "Atlas of Tomorrow", made in Philadelphia in July 2016. I'm also interested in the Pecha Kucha being made in New Orleans. So as you can see, Candy, along with other moving artists, can make the world a better place. It showed me that art can have a voice in the world, just like the government. It also shows that it's possible for me to have a voice in this world.

Nighttime in New Orleans

The music of Heart to Heart boomed in my ears, and the car ride back was smooth and straight as a wooden table. I stared at the city for one last time, and took in its glory. The nighttime pulled the bright, neon lights into the open, making the buildings in the back blend in like gray shadows. The Super Dome had the usual rainbow spotlights on the curve, making it sparkle like the ocean on a sunset. But the night sky put it all to shame. The moon shone against the inky blackness, and the tiny stars reminded me of tiny white fireflies from my summer camp. We descended to the dark bridge, the orange lights the only thing to light the path.

The car passed that eagles nest I see when passing through the cities. I can almost see the eagle's head perking up from its nest. I then looked through the other window, to the black Pontchartrain Lake, it's miniture waves overlapped on the sandy coast. The car then passes to the grassy landscape, which was mostly made up of tall grass surrounded by small bodies of water. The moon reflected off of the water's ripples. My eyes were overwhelmed at the mystery of this nature, and my eyes started to drift. I lets my eyes close, as my dreams overtook me.

Miraculous Ladybug

Miraculous Ladybug is a show where there are two heroes called Ladybug and Chat Noir. Ladybug is a girl with confident personality and uses her yo-yo to save the day. Her friend, Chat Noir flirts with Ladybug because he's in love with her. But Ladybug always rejects him because she loves someone else. In the normal world, the two heroes unknowingly go to school together as Marinette and Adrien. This time, Marinette has a crush on Adrien but won't say anything because she's nervous. I honestly wish those two would just find out already and kiss now! But enough of that. Their arch enemy is a man named Hawkmoth, a butterfly themed character who makes people evil by giving them black colored butterflies. Reason because he wants Ladybug and Chat Noir's miraculouses. Ladybug and Chat Noir always save Paris from these villans, and save the day for justice. I loved this shoe recommend it to anybody who likes watching superheroes fight villans.

My life in Philadelphia

I would wake up at 7:00 am in the morning with my sister next to me, since we shared a bed and room. I would get up and brush my teeth, then wake up Maddie, because she's fast. Then I would head to the closet to change into my uniform for school. Usually around this time I smelled either bacon or oatmeal from downstairs. My Grandmother would greet me with her usual smile, her hair tied up in a bun and her silver-lined glasses on. I would sit down in a chair and look around our house, as I did every morning. There was the biege colored ceiling, the blue rose wallpaper against the stairs, and the 5 oddly shaped vases on the counter. Half way through breakfast, Maddie would scramble down the stairs and quickly eat her breakfast. The clock would strike 8:00, and our grandpa would take us to school, which was 2 blocks away. My mother couldn't any of that, becuase she's a surgent, and surgents are always busy.

Anyways, we get to school, and Maddie and I scramble up the stairs to our individual classes. I head to my class, say hi to my teachers and sit down. My friends are sitting right next to me. Ashley tells me what happened after school yesterday, and class gets started. Time skip to after school, my grandmother took my little sister and I back home. Once we arrive, my sis goes to the dinner table for arts and crafts, while I go to my room for my homework. Time skip to after my homework, it's dinner time, and Mom just came home. She asks me how was school and what did I do. We talked and laughed as we ate Ba Ngoai's food. Then I took a shower, brushed my teeth, and counted the flowers on my stand lamp before I fell asleep again.

The Knife of Never Letting Go

HELLO MY POTATOES!!! Potato Girl back with another BLOG!!!!
(crowds cheers)
Thanks you guys! Now, let's get onto today's blog. This is a book from an author named Patrick Ness. It's called The Knife Of Never Letting Go. Enjoy!!!!

The main character Todd Hewitt was hands down a somewhat mysterious figure. I wondered how he could control the Noise without losing it, or getting sent to an asylum. I thought of his face when he learned about the answer. I had the same reaction. I mean, all of he women in a town were illed, just because they knew too much. and they were killed by their loved ones! I thought that Viola would speak immediately to Todd on first meeting. But I like that she's smart, and she keeps it all in. I right now think that Mayor Prentiss is evil, along with the town and his son. But I think there is more to Prestiss Town. I just need to read the new book. In all honesty, I like the way Viola is able to imitate all of the voices in the book, including Todd's mom's voice.

I hated the part when Ben and Manche (Todd's father and dog) were taken away from him. The worst part was they were taken away by Aaron (the priest man of Old Prestiss Town). At the end of the book, I honestly thought that Viola and Todd would live happly ever after in the Haven. But instead, the Mayor of Prestiss Town took it over and made himself the president. Todd was knocked and Viola was right next to him as she was shot by the Mayor's son, Davy Prestiss. My thoughts on Davy were that he was spoiled, and had some miscommunication along the way. According to the book, he thought what he doing (killing other people) was a good thing.

Attack on Potato Girl

Hello my potatoes!!! I know its only been a little while, but, to be honest, I'm bored and I have no life. Anyways, this is a blog on one of my favorite TV shows Attack on Titan. And at the end of the blog, you doods get to know on how I got my nickname!! Hope you all like this blog. ENJOY MY POTATOES!!!!

Attack on Titan is an anime show, meaning that it was made in Japan. It's about this world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, and these huge giant-like creatures called Titans mostly took it over. In this world are three walls: Wall Maria, Wall Sina, and Wall Rose. The story starts in Wall Maria, where a boy named Eren Jeager (devilishly handsome), lives with his mother and father, along with his half-sister Mikasa. At 10 years old, Eren and Mikasa saw their mother die right in front of their eyes due to a Titan breach in the walls. Eren then swore that he would kill all of the titans, save the world, and join the Survey Corps. When Eren said that, I thought that what he wanted was a bit over the top. But it's like Eren says: It's either do or die, people!".

Eren, Mikasa, and their best friend Armin Arlert, are later brought to the military training camp to become military soldiers. This man named Shadis enters the screen. In my opinion, he would be a great leader in real life, and I give respect to him even though he isn't real. As he passes the saluting soldiers, we see Sasha Brauss (the potato girl), Connie Springer, Bertolt Hoover, Reiner Brauns, Annie Leonhart, Christa Reins, Jean Kirstein (horse face), and Ymir. They eventually all become friends (SO SWEET!!!!!). Four years later, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin make the top 10 best and are about to graduate, when another breach happens this time in Wall Sina. When this happened, I was sitting on my bed with a root beer in my right hand. I swear my expression was all like,"WTH?! NOT AGAIN!!" Anyways, Eren seemingly died but used his secret power to shift into a titan and kill 17 titans before shifting back.

Now, I'm gonna skip to the trial where Eren Jeager was chained to a pole and Levi Ackerman (strongest man in the world and pretty much everyone's body pillow) was beating the absolute hell out of him. Okay my potatoes, imagine this: a 30 year old man who is 5 feet 4 inches tall, beating up a teenager whose 15, and has chocolate brown hair along with Carribean green eyes. Let's now skip to after Eren is considered innocent, and is on the 75th expedition outside Wall Sina. The ENTIRE Special Operations squad was killed and this made me cry. It made me cry even more when Petra Ral was killed, because I think poor little Levi Ackerman had a crush on her. Later on, after the mission failed, we all found out that the titan that killed the squad was Annie Leonhart. They managed to encase the titan-shifter (what you call these type of people) in crystal. The show ended with Eren Jeager passing out and Erwin Smith (the commander of the Survey Corps) say that Eren can change the world. I'm really pooped that the show temporarily ended but I can't wait for the second season in 2017.

Now, for my username. You guys might have noticed that Sasha Brauss' nickname is Potato Girl, and you guys think I have stolen it. That is technically true, but there is more to it than just that. You see, when I re-watched the episode with my cousin Cody, we decided to give each other nicknames. That would be our "thing". So I became Potato Girl because I look so much like her. and Cody became Ravioli Boy because he's so short for his age. Man, there are so many cool moments in the Anime World. You guys can join to Anime World by simply just typing up the world 'anime'. And also, check out my new blogs coming soon. Until then, GOOD BYE MY POTATOES, and ENJOY YOUR AMAZING LIVES!!!!

The Siren of Titans: WHY THE INVASIONS?!

Hi my potatoes!!! This is my FIRST post on my blog! YAY! My first one's going to be on my favorite summer reading book, The Sirens of Titans by Kurt Vonnegut. It's about a man named Constant Malachi who sails through outer space. Hope you enjoy!!!

The sirens of Titans was an interesting book, which was normal for me since I am a HUGE fan of outer space. Constant struck me as a puppet controlled by Winston Niles Nummford, the antagonist of the book. I mean, come on! He tried to enslave the Earth with a new religion. And this religion said something among the lines of,"God is indifferent to welfare of humanity." I also feel bad for Constant when he and his wife Beatrice lose all their money. I also feel bad when Constant's wife Beatrice sells their house. And then there was that moment where I fangirled.

I believe this was the moment where the Martian Army invaded planet Earth. It just reminded me of my Guardians of the Galaxy comic books. And I literally screamed "I KNEW IT!" when Winston revealed himself as the culprit of the invasion. It reminded me of one of my books Kings Of Clomnel. In my book, the priest was trying to convince others of his fake religion just to secretly claim their loyalty, goods, and armies. All in all, I highly recommend this book to others who are sci-fi outer space geeks like me.
